Wow! I can't believe it! Only a few days before christmas and I seem to be totally prepared. Since the world didn't end last night we are going to celebrate today by going ice skating and possibly going to see 'wreck it ralph' if there's enough time. With the days growing shorter I feel like a crazy person tring to get everything done before it feels like bedtime. These days, since adding the chickens, life has become even more hectic, but totally rewarding! On a visual sense anyways! My girls have been slackers. I don't know if it's the cold weather, shorter days or if they just really don't feel like laying right now but they aren't budging in the egg department.
We did finally finish the coop, painted it a bit, hung up some flower pots using string (thanks ikea) and added a few new girls (i hope) to our flock this week.

the chickens are a huge delight to have around and I find myself distracted constantly and lose time just sitting and watching. They are such interesting little ladies!

Here's Pearl, laying our first egg! She went back and forth from the nesting box to back in the yard so many times before anything happened. I actually left to pick london up from school, got home and as soon as we walked up to her we heard a loud PLOP! How thoughtful of her to wait for us ;) If the chickens are teaching me anything at all, it's patience. ;)

beautiful, isn't it?!

London had an interesting week. He was the lead in the school play 'red headed robbies christmas story', lost his 2nd front tooth, got his first pair of wellies (becoming quite the chicken farmer), and a haircut (his dad pushed for that one)

Gosh, another few busy weeks have gone by. We built a chicken coop, bought some chicks, went to parades, had pancake eating contests, marveled over the beauty of rainbows and had the temperature go from cold to hot here in Florida in a flash. I plan to take some photos of the new chickens we have. 10 little ladies!
check out these vintage dr martens we found while at the flea market!

I've been so busy, between a sick kid, thanksgiving, christmas decorations and school field trips, I've hardly had time to breathe. We started elf on a shelf tonight for the first year! London named his elf "cello". The holidays are exciting but I seem to always make myself crazy trying to pack in as much festive, exciting things as possible... so at home stretch I am asking myself, "is this over yet?!"

Shawn took me on a surprise outting the other day which was nice. The weather was perfect, not too cold, overcast, just the way I like it, and the picnic basket was full of some of my most favorite things! :) After we ate he took me to ms. mangos to snatch up this beautiful blue decanter I had been eyeballing and of course we couldn't say no to the free tea and bisquits. Stuffed and happy we decided to go down the street so shawn could give blood. We got a free movie ticket and a gallon of orange juice from harvey's groves for the pint of blood! I hope to have more days like this one really soon, it was a nice mini get away and yet a quick reminder of just how beautiful our home town is.

My closet is insane and I literally do not have any room to squeeze a single thing in there anymore. Time to unload. You can see below what I mean... totally ridiculous. Below that is a fall must have that I picked up a few years ago. You can find it to purchase here.

Untitled-1

1. sugar plum tinted lip treatment SPF 15 (22.50) 2. Megafood Womens one daily multi vitamin (32.75) 3. Paul & Joe's Color Powder CS collection - Les Tourtereaux (30.00)
The sugar plum lip tint is amazing because you can pick how dark or light you would like it to show up. you can wear it glossy and thin or thick like an actual lipstick. the color is rich and perfect for fall.
I've been taking megafod vitamins for quite some time now. they are 100% organic, made from food and gentle on the stomach. This is a MUST HAVE for the flu season coming up.
The paul and joe collection is not only charming to look at, but the color combinations are perfect for fall. My skin looks natural and warm.

I personally own and try each one of the products I post in the must haves section.
